Dear fellow Heathkit fans:
You may have seen my earlier listing regarding QSK using a diode T-R switch.
While I was looking for the original T-R article, I found a great CQ Magazine
article from January 1971 by David Kochendarfer, K4DC regarding QSK for SB
Series Heathkits.
The article offers a simple mod for CW that does not alter operation in the
SSB mode.
As you probably already know, the SB units use the VOX circuit for CW.
Breaking stations are only heard after a pause.
This article focuses on the SB-401 and the SB-300. Even though this article
is 28 years old, the mod parts are all still available, and the mods
themselves are simple.
If any of you are interested in a copy of this article, send me a
Self-Addressed Stamped Envelope (SASE) and I will mail you a photocopy. One
33 cent stamp on the envelope will be enough; the article is only 4 pages long
