Pot cleaning

John -

GC Electronics is still around. My local parts house carries very
little any more. They supply
"Lubriplate" white lithium grease, some PC board proto chemicals and
stuff, and a few chemical strippers, etc. Most of their line of
chemicals has been eliminated by EPA rules/liabilities.

I remember "Quietrol", although I don't think it was GC. The "deluxe
kit" came with a hypodermic type of device whose business end had a
female 3/8" thread. You could remove the knob, thread this device
onto the pot bushing and push the plunger. Pushed the Quietrol past
the shaft and into the pot. Worked great, and seemed to last forever.
Quietrol probably consisted of Carbon Tetrachloride (which was the
universal cleaning agent of the day) and some type of lubricant.
