cleaning the broads

Hello Kevin and Everybody,

I have to tell you my little cleaning story. 20 years ago I bought a
nice looking Drake TR7. Only thing wrong with it was it stunk real
bad. I am not a smoker. The thing had run almost continuously and
was just full of dirt and dust.

I tore it all apart, cleaned all boards with drug store alky, Q-tips,
old tooth brush etc. Used my hobby compressor to push setting crud
and water in the drug store alky off. Put it all back together and
it worked great and no longer smelled bad. I would not hesitate to
do it again. This time I would get some 200 proof alky and also use
some kind of conductive lube on the board pins. Oh, BTW, that old
TR7 is chugging away to this day without a single problem.
