Heathkit paint

Hi Don and all,

Rust-Oleum "Winter Gray" (1982 Painter's Touch) is almost a perfect color
match for the Heath SB cases. The only problem is that it comes only in
gloss whereas semigloss or satin would be a better texture match. I have
tried to ungloss it with an alcohol wipe and steel wool with some
success. Be sure to follow the "2nd" coat instructions on the can: i.e.
within 1 hr or after 24 hrs. Otherwise you can get into a real mess.

For the front panels, Rust-Oleum "Hunter Green" satin (7732 Outdoor
Decor) is a close match. I've only used it on home-brew stuff that I
wanted to match the SB panels and on older HW cases.

Both Orchard's Supply and Home Depot carry these colors in my
neighborhood.
