When I worked for Motorola I used to inject the IF frequency into the
last IF coil and tune it, then the previous and tune it and the last.
Keep working back to the mixer input. Motorola even had little holes in
the corner of the cans to insert an injection probe ( a piece of
insulated wire). I used to strip the shield off the last 1/4" of a piece
of RG58 and use that. If worst came to worst you could drill small (1/8")
holes in the corner of the cans. Wrap tape around the bit so it can only
go in 1/8" or so. Regards,
