SB634

Hello Heatherns:

I have two SB634 station monitors and both have clock and timer problems. I
have tried to get the MOSTEK chips locally and can't. I understand that
MOSTEK went belly up and there are no replacements or substitutions for
some of the chips in the 634. The leads on the chips oxidize as do the
sockets and my experience has been bad at trying to clean them up without
breaking off the pins of the chips.

If you have experience with the 634, what did you do to keep the clock and
timer alive?? Has anyone built another digital clock in place of the stock
clock that came in the 634. I am not a collector or purist and would like
to have the clocks and timers working.

Anyone have any ideas about the replacements for the Mostek chips?
Naturally, the ones I need are the ones that are impossible to find. I went
through a search some time ago and found none on the reflector or in any
cross references. If you experienced the same result, what did you do?? All
suggestions will be appreciated.
