Thanks to all those who responded with very valuable information. The coil I
removed is number
40-776. Jim, this will not work for your IF of 1650. Sorry. It is designed
to work at 3000, 3055,
and 3395. If anyone needs this coil, let me know and it's yours. I decided
to look through the coffee cans to see what I had. Low and behold, about 15
years ago, I bought a bunch of JW Miller cans - new in the box. Guess what
?? One of them is the 455 khz OSC coil in a shielded can. Already drilled
the two holes and mounted it. Removed L3 (the 40-776) and will shag the
extra parts tomorrow to complete the wiring.
Heaven knows what else I stashed away over the years. Sound familiar ??!!
