Does anybody know what kind of cable ends are used to hook up to
the Heathkit IG-102 ( and other brands ) signal generator at the
output terminals ?
They would look almost like PL-259's without the extended center
tip , just a button in the middle.

What you are looking for is the old Amphenol 75-MC1F Microphone
connector.
You may be able to scare up some at a parts house with some NOS
parrts.
