This post summarizes several of the responses I received from my query.
Several list members asked that I share the results, so here they are:

1. Plain old 8-conductor rotator cable works just great! No problems at
this QTH...

2. I am in the process of building thlis cable. I am using Belden 9157,
8
wire, 18 guage. This should be available at any electronics store.
Good
luck.

3. I don't have the exact numbers handy, but it was probably Belden
9-conductor cable, each being 18 g wire, except the Red and Black ( I
think it was these two colors), which as I recall were 16 g. I know the
battery power cable for the HP-24 was "Belden - 8 Duplex" cable (two
wire, black and red, 8g due to power required for the Compact Kilowatt).

Thanks to all who responded.
