First, while this is a real virus, it's more annoying than destructive.
Second, NEVER try to read a .EXE attachment unless you know what
  you're doing.

The following site has a complete writeup on the "Happy99.exe" virus.
It explains what it is, what it does, and how to get rid of it if you executed
the .EXE attachment. If you infected your machine you must run one of the
many virus programs to remove it or follow the info at the below site.

In summary, it attaches itself ..unknown to the sender....to E-mail and if
executed by the recipient, the recipient will continue to unknowingly
pass it on to others, etc.

It's real, but it won't do anything UNLESS you execute the .EXE command
by reading the attachment. If you delete the message nothing happens, if
you click on the attachment, but don't open it nothing happens.

This dang thing has already made the rounds on other reflectors and I
expect to see more.
