Untrue. First, the HO-10 is a Station Monitor and does not connect to the
IF of the radio. Instead, the RF output of the transmitter is connected
through the back of the HO-10 which picks off a sample of the transmitted
signal for display.

The panadapter equivalent was the HO-13. It was shipped from Heath with two
sets of coils, for 455 kHz and 3395 kHz. It could be used with the earlier
Heath receivers (or any others) having a 455 kHz first IF, or it could be
used with the SB-series having the 3395 kHz IF.

The same was true of all the later Heath Station Monitors and Panadapters,
from the SB-series through the last HO-5404 for the SB104.

At W6GGV, we had a HO-13 connected to Hank's SB101 for years.
