Plastic knobs, fungus and cleanup

A buffing wheel might work or it might melt plastic knobs. I know of
several individuals who tried that on some Collins knobs only to end up
with burnt spots. There's nothing like some kind of light abrasive and
polishing compound and lots of elbow grease. I use stuff to remove
scatches on plexiglass windshields and a small piece of terry cloth.
Finish up with a toothbrush and it does a nice job.
