I just gotta add my 2 cents' worth about Drake vs Heath etc.
Did ya ever notice how every rig, whether xcvr or separates of all
conceivable combinations, possesses a sort of... well... character ?
I really enjoy the differences, for example, between my HW-16 / HG-10B combo
and my Drake 2NT / 2C w/ 2BQ Q-Multiplier. Would you believe that, in studio
B ( Barnloft ), my rig of choice is the Meissner Signal Shifter and the
Hammarlund SP-600 ?
Heck, I even use a rice box for CW in the mobile.
I admit a certain attachment to all this stuff. I 'll bet others have, too.
