S-38 vs. HW-16

Besides, at the end of WW2, Bill Halligan probably got more high
shcool kids, (like me), set up with an afordable receiver for a
starter unit for budding Hams and SWL than any other manufacturer with
the good 'ole S38. I still have mine, and turn it on periodically,
with an isolation transformer, of course, just to remember what it was
back in High School. I bought it new fropm Concord Radio Co. in 1946
or 47. There was nothing that would compare to it back then unless
you spent at least 3 times the money. A little hard to do on yard
mowing and paper route money, at least for me. It still has a place
in MY heart, and I can't beleive anyone would try to compare it with
something like a regen, or something made 30 years later.
