HW-101 step 3

Fred, sorry you missed the other steps.
Lets see, The 307 v is OK, the difference is both the change from 110
vac of 30 years ago to 121 today and the +- 10%.
I think step 1 was check all the tubes first and replace the melco (or
something like that)
I did have a problem understanding the initial setup of the VFO and dial
with the 100KHz tone, but I figured that one out. Use the coil to pull
the tone up to the 500 mark, and use the trimmer caps to pull the other
tone down to the 0 point. It took me about 10 cycles of going to 500
and then back to 0 to get it set right on.
I still have a problem with my 100KC crystal. It has aged to 101KC. I
am talking with someone to trade for a new one.
That's all for now, but watch for more, I've got a couple of duzzies
coming up.

|John, keep posting, I enjoy learning your steps in repairing
|your HW-101.
|I want to see
|what develops. Like the answer to your question below, MOD
|or TYPO. This
|is interesting
|maybe you can tell me via direct email what developed on steps
|1 & 2. With
|the 307V on
|the screen grid. I have an old TEMP0 1 that I am slowly
|working on to get
|going. So anything helps.
