Questions About Heathkit Receivers

Hello Heath-ers ;-)!

Perhaps one reason to go for an HW-101 is that there are zillions of units
available at very good price (mine was about $60) and you can always find
parts for it cheap enough...

By the way, in my collection (look at my WEB page for details) I have also
a Collins S-line and a late KWM-2A... I have not yet checked the HW-101
against the KWM-2A side-by-side, as they are in different shacks now... BUT
I think the comparison won't be fair, as original prices were so different
that one can't expect same quality / performance for both sets. Of course,
the HW-101 has better price/performace ratio (IMHO), but I prefer the
KWM-2A dial, received audio, number of bands, ... All in all, I enjoy a lot
my HW-101 :-)!

Just my 0.02 Euros worth.
