Welcome to the hobby Ken!!!!

If you want SWL capability, then the Heaths are not for you..
they do not have all band coverage......go with a late or
recent model HF rig like Kenwood TS140 or its cousin the 680
(which has 6 mtrs in it! I own one and it a good rig...you can
find one on the used market for less than 600 now)
Also MOST Heaths did NOT have AM xmit capability (the SB and
HWs that is!)
