I also have the 57-64 listed as a GP-15M, 1000V 1 A. This came from an old
Heath parts master file, but Dom's info probably did too, just a different
year.

My guess is it's a higher quality part than 1N4007...maybe the GP is Glass
Passivated, better for high temperature apps where mere mortal diodes can
self-contaminate and fail.
