WTB Knobs

I've seen a couple of statements like this and it's close to correct, but I
just want to point out that the older rigs - tube rigs that is, have a
lighter shade of green knob than the later solid state stuff.

Despite the fact that they are dimensionally identical, the HW-104 and
SB-104 series knobs are very dark green, almost black. The main tuning
knobs also added the finger hole and I, as many others did, installed them
on my SB-102 and my SB-640.

I have been browsing KB9JJA's fantastic web site and seeing all of those
tube SB series rigs, I wonder who thought they could improve the appearance
by making any changes?

Actually, I do think that the darker knobs were used to "blend" better with
all the red that was used in the LED displays and the "blacked-out" lens
areas.
