B&H Scope

Al:

Back in the late 60's through mid-70's, Bell & Howell Schools had a "GI
Bill" approved electronics course that was very popular with returning Viet
vets who were enticed by B&H's advertisements to use their free GI Bill
dollars and "get into the exciting world of electronics and <gasp>
transistors"!

B&H's courses included a number of different Heath products, including
Heath-designed oscilloscope kits that were similar, but not _exactly_
identical, to Heath's scopes. Many times, the current Heath scopes were
newer designs and B&H was supplying slightly outdated stuff (due in part to
the time lag in producing training courses to supplement the construction
manual).

At the Heath stores, we serviced these kits as warranty repairs. We referred
to them, irreverently, as "Hell & Bowell kits". ;-)
