Heath 5001 Weather computer outdoor temperature probe assembly

Can anyone suggest what may be inside the outdoor Temperature probe
assembly.  The schematic for this assembly suggests that it may be some
kind of stock  temperature I.C. with 4 leads.  I just had a temp probe
failure (which I verified by swapping the indoor and outdoor probes into
the computer) and I wanted to make some of my own replacements so if there
are any suggestions as to what Heath used then and what may be a suitable
replacment in today's world I would be most appreciative of your input.
