LMO warble?

Hi,
I have a SB-303 receiver that has some "warble" when tuning portions of the
band, but sounds fine when you stop tuning. I had a similar problem with a
SB-310 receiver a few years ago and fixed it, but can't remember what I did
(must be getting old).... anyhow, I assume it requires taking the LMO out
and taking it apart and cleaning it?
