first time i took my test... for general cuz my novice was given to me
and a friend by his dad... i had to travel 60 miles to salt lake city.
the fcc only came here from denver twice a year. and if you failed, you
had to wait for six months to try again unless you traveled to where the
fcc was. AND there was no instant results on the theory.. only on the
code. fcc took the written part back to denver with them for correction
and you had to wait to hear by mail.....first time i took the general i
was only 17 and i missed the 75 percent required by ONE question.
passed the code with flying colors...
code test was given with one of those paper tape oscillators...
load the reel of paper tape.. like a player piano... and let it run.
