Hi Gerald...

I was the fellow who built the SB-310 AM filter "clone"...

You're correct: it was NOT cheap, as such---besides the price of 4 custom
cut crystals, you also incur the expense of a "regular" Heath SSB filter,
which is used as the foundation for your new AM jobbie.

Still, considering the rarity of the '310 filter (and the price, should be
be lucky enough to find one!), the effort is certainly worth it. I would say
that the cost of construction, as compared to some of the prices seen on
eBay, make it an even draw...

Oh yes, there IS one added benefit: you're actually doing some
honest-to-goodness, time honoured, Ham inspired HOMEBREWING by rolling your
own, & to me that's almost priceless!
