I agree with most of what you said John, but to me the most amazing thing about eBay is
the amount of activity that a single trivial listing can generate on the listservers.
The unbuilding part is especially dumb. Frankly, I'd rather watch a dogfight or
television, in that order...!
It's true that I enjoyed building a few Heathkits in the sixties myself but also have
had a lot more fun in later years working with "pre-owned" models that I could not
afford when they were first introduced. The eBay auctions help here by making a variety
of these units available to anyone who'd care to bid on them. The prices are usually
higher than hamfest prices but one can go to a lot of hamfests and still not find what
he is looking for!
