Daniel Ruth and I were just talking about that same
question. The auto band switch was standard on the
SS-9000. It was used, as I remember it, only as a part of
the computer control part (also standard). So you can
switch bands with the front panel switch w/o it. Had no
relationship with HL-2000 amplifier - only the computer
control port. Originally it was intended as an option but
the Product Line Manager decided to load up the radio with
everything - so no options other than the PS and the service
manual.
To answer the unansered quesion (I'm just guessing here) but
the SS-9000 on eBay does NOT have the Ledex drive on the
back so it is missing that item.
