AR-3 receiver

Anyone on the list familiar  with he AR-3 Heathkit receiver? I have just
acquired one that is in pretty good shape but I may need some help bringing
back to like new operation.  I don't have any missing parts and it works
basically. I've already freed up the tuning drives and worked on some noisy
controls and sockets. i have a bit of hum. Worst operation is seen with the
BFO on. CW does not have a pure tone and some hum, the volume control causes
motorboating when turned low while the BFO is on.

Any AR-3 experts please get in contact with me.
