Tune up instructions for the CM 1073 Auto Tune Up Meter are as follows:
Dwell Cal:
1. Set FUNCTION switch at Dwell. The CYLINDERS switch can be in any
position.
2. Set the DWELL CAL control at the center of its range.
3. Connect the negative lead to the negative terminal and the positive
lead to the positive terminal of a car battery.
4. Adjust the DWELL CAL control until the meter reads exactly full
scale.
Tach Cal:
1. Set the FUNCTION switch for LOW RPM.
2. Set the CYLINDERS switch at 6.
3. set the TAC CAL control at midrange.
4. Connect the test leads to the calibration cable, red to the resistor,
black to the plain lead.
Note: The calibration cable should not remain plugged in longer than
necessary to accomplish the calibration of the instrument (about 2-3
minutes). The resistor will overheat if left on for too long.
This is the AC line cord you found. It should have a 10K ohm 1Watt
resistor in series with the red lead.
5. Plug in the calibrating cable to 120VAC.
6. Using a screwdriver with an insulated handle, adjust the TAC CAL
control until the meter reads 1200 RPM.
7. Check:
CYLINDERS switch at 8 = 900 RPM
Set the FUNCTION switch at HIGH RPM
CYLINDERS switch at 4 = 1800 RPM
CYLINDERS switch at 3 = 2400 RPM

Save the calibration cable!
