Hi just a note for those who may experience unusual smoke from the
bleeder resistors during stand-by... I have the same problem and could
not understand why they were getting so hot... turns out that the
original builder had cut the leads so short that they were only soldered
about 1/8" to the pads... with the heat generated over the years, caused
the point resistance to increase to the point where the board itself was
over heating and the resistors were also... pulling the resistors
through the board a bit and soldering them for 1/4" to the pads
eliminated the problem completely... the resistance values has not gone
out of spec even with the prolonged heating, ... Gotta run FN-10 into
DO-21 on 6 meter Double Hop Es right now... 73 de Jordan...
