HM-2102 Wattmeter Question

Hello Greenies,
I have a VHF SWR/Wattmeter that does not want to act just right when I follow
the SWR Balance Adjustment procedure on page 14 of the manual.  The manual
states that you "adjust SWR NULL trimmer C4 on the circuit board for the best
null or dip of the meter needle. This should be at or near zero."  I use a
plastic alignment tool and the meter dips nowhere near zero, in fact I go all
the way with the pot and never reach a dip. Has anybody ran into this problem?

Actually, I have one meter that works fine and TWO have exactly the problem
stated above.
