Tightening dial stringing

Taking another turn of string on the shaft might throw off calibration only
because string has been moved relative to shaft position, but linearity is
unchanged. Amount of string movement per revolution remains the same
whether you have one turn or a dozen on the shaft. If another turn, or
tightening the string doesn't help, or if there is no tension spring to
replace then restringing (and don't forget to clean every surface the
string touches) will be necessary. Antique Electronic Supply
(www.tubesandmore.com) sells the string, I believe.
