Greetings,

This message is for those people who are using a forwarding system...most
notably ARRL.NET

The reason to have a forwarding system is mainly to be able to have a stable
email address to give to others...especially in this day of musical ISPs and
changing addresses is a pain.

This causes a problem when you subscribe to a list server (reflector) and
use a forwarding address as your subscription address. For example, signing
up for list ABC using w1aw at arrl.net. Not a problem. However, if you try to
post a message or otherwise manage your subscription you MUST have the
forwarding email address as your return address in your email program.
Actually, you should anyhow, but some don't.

The list server will not accept email from anyone other than the subscriber.
It looks at the return address of all emails it sees and if that address
isn't exactly like one in the subscribers list it WILL reject the post or
command. So, don't subscribe as xyz at arrl.net and then expect to post from
xyz at hotmail.com or any other address. This goes for signing off lists
too...

The reason for this is to keep the spammers down. And, over the years it's
worked well. So please, understand how it works and enjoy the lists.
