IT-12 Signal Tracer

How high of an RF frequency can the IT-12 be used to trace?  Would like to
be able to use it for a 8 MHz IF strip that has an intermittent.  What is
the purpose of the "eye" and "noise switch"?  Sorry to take up space but I
do not have a manual.  Thanks for any comments,  Joe K7MKS
