I had a similar problem a number of years ago on my HW-101. It would work
fine on AM signals (CHU Canada is USB with a carrier), but distort on SSB.
Looking in my notes I found that I had replaced RFC 101 at V13C in the
product detector to cure the problem. Check the voltages around V13C to see
if they are correct.
