VTVM Meter Model IM_13

Was reading with interest the discussion on these probes....I always wind
up buying these old VTVM's at flea mkts just for the probes as they are
unique. As per the notes on this...be aware that the 1/4 inch plug on the
end of these probes is NOT standard. If you look very carefully, you'll see
the insulation that separates the end tip from the rest of the plug body is
WIDER than a std plug. I suspect that is to minimize potential arcing when
measuring high voltages......

 Making your own is the easiest thing in the world,unless you want an
original set for collection purpose.Rg 58 or RG 174 cable can be
used.Mouser Electronics sells probes witout wires attached that will take
either of the above cables.A standard full size phone jack is used at the
other end.Make two such probes;one with a 1 meg. resistor in the tip for dc
measurements and a second without the resistor for use on ac and ohms.

Easy and fun to do!
