I just bought a probeless IM 13 as well and made my own probe set, but
didn't realize that the phone plug was non standard. Is the correct type of
plug still available from somewhere?

Exactly right Mark. A normal phone plug WILL NOT take the possible 1000
or 1500V input, and neither will a common phone jack in place of the
original Nylon-insulated Switchcraft special. One runs the risk of
frying an otherwise good meter, or an otherwise good oneself.
