I have a A9-A and has different resistors but is a very close
circuit.
Use 2 resistors to make your 340 ohms.

I put all 10Watts in mine.
I hade 5U4G tube but re did circuit for 5AR4.I hade to increase resistor to keep B+ the same.

Check for leackly filter caps and cathode bias resistor.
and your 6L6 tubes.
Also leackly input caps on grigs of 6L6 tubes will cause more plate current and will make it sound bad.
Mine had all WAX caps when I got it.
1!!! I got all the WAX caps out and replaced with orange drop caps and put a new set of filters and hade to replace the
input resistor to B+ filters.A shorted wax cap made 6L6G hot plate pritty good!!Not to say all I got was a bad hum.
Rebult it and sounds great.I use it as my test amp.

Bob Meyer
