What is the differences in the Heathkit Tube testers?

In a nutshell, the IT-17 is newer (though the TC-2 does come in a nice wood
case). Of the six different models of 'simple' checkers (in chronological
order TC-1, TC-2, TC-3, IT-21, IT-17, IT-3117), I personally prefer the
IT-17. There are other types as well, such as CRT testers and mutual
conductance testers.
