Does anyone still make vacuum tubes?

Justin,
Sovtek in Russia, and scores of Chinese and other former Soviet and
Soviet block countries still make them. Some are quite good. I've tried the
Chinese and Russian variants in EL34's, 6L6's and 6V6's ( Sovtek,
Electro-Harmonix, Svetlana, etc) and have had good luck with them. The
Chinese tubes I've used ( RF Parts 3-500ZG) is also good. I'd stay away from
the Star brand and any Chinese sweep tubes and the same for Chinese 6146's.
They're less reliable and only develop about 75-80 percent of the output of a
new American counterpart. They even make Chinese 4-1000A's and 833A's!
Hope this helps.
