Heath SB-200 on AM

About 300 to 350 watts input maximum with "normal" AM
(up to 500 watts peak with "controlled carrier).
Output is about half.

Frankly, unless you are running something like a DX-40
or other low-powered rig, it isn't worth the trouble!
Linears are really inefficient on full AM (actually,
SSB is a form of AM, but when most people think of AM
they are thinking of the full carrier, double-sideband
transmissions).

If you are running a DX-100, Apache, or similar 100
watt output plus AM transmitter, you won't really do
any better with the SB-200 in line.

Has anyone used the SB-200 for AM and if so how hard
can you push the rig before the tubes melt? What
output power should be expected
