Melting finals

reminds me of the time when i was a novice (late 60s).  had a couple of
friends who, just for the heck of it, decided to see what would happen if
they tried loading up a pair of 1625 tubes as close to a kilowatt as they
could get em HI HI.   they lasted about 30 seconds before turning bright
cherry red and melting down into a glob.....    that was when 1625's were
very plentiful and us young folk wanted to experiment with things.....
