Restore HW8

This would be the worst way to troubleshoot anything.
I assume an HW8 is a transceiver? AM?
If so, start at the oscillator, and move towards the output stage. Each
stage should add to the output - does it? You will find there is some point
at which there is no gain, either in voltage or power. Look at that stage.
