stripped screws

A marvelous suggestion Jack! Why in the world would you want to mount some
kind of third party assembly and ruin the natural state of the equipment?
Of course the #8s are a little larger and will surely offend the purist but
nevertheless look original. I think I would try some J-B Weld in and under
the hole. Re-drill it the correct size and even slap a little silver or
aluminum paint on the hole. Funny, no one has mentioned Velcro or duct
tape. :o)

73 all,

Heathkit seems to have bought, early on, a trainload of #6 sheet metal
screws. Fitting
screw nuts or other types of fasteners is a possibility, but the easiest
thing is simply
to replace them with #8's.
