Heathkit Kits

Oh no, not another "let's revive the Heathkit kits" thread!  Making the boards is the
easiest part of the process.  Anyone with a scanner and some transfer paper can do it, at
least for the simple single layer boards.  The hard part is coming up with the old
parts.  Lots of Heathkit parts are now made from unobtainium.  Try buying a tuning
capacitor for an HW-8!.. They aren't made, and they aren't sold anywhere.  Sure, you
could have one made, but capacitor manufacturers want a 500 unit minimum order to even
start!  Please let Heathkit die a respectful death.  If you want the experience of
building a kit buy a new one, like a K1 or a K2.  If you want the experience of building
a Heathkit, there are plenty of older ones that could benefit from a rebuild!
