ESR METER

Ok before i get to many questions esr stands for equivalent series resistance it measures resistance at a high frequency not dc as most ohm meters you can even measure the resistance of a battery. A cap may have good capacitance  at dc but not be good as a ac coupling cap or for filtering a switching power supply. It is a low ohms meter. Popular electronics a month or so ago had a story about it. You can pay allot for them but the kit from dick  smith is the cheapest if heath was still around they would have one.The best part is you check caps in circuit. The price is under $50
