Weather sealant for pc boards

Mike,

I have had some experience with board coating courtesy of the US Air
Force and industrial experience.  The original conformal coating on the
F-16 Autopilot circuit boards was not waterproof, not even enough to
withstand the Mil Spec tests!

We looked at a glass based coating but we would have to have had
miniature sand blasters to repair the boards!  We finally developed a
coating that would pass the Mil Spec tests!  Potting has been
discouraged in military assemblies for a long time because of high
throw-away repair costs!
