DX-100

I have a newly acquired DX-100 and have a couple questions. To recalibrate the VFO for 40 mtrs do you unscrew the screws on the front panel and drag the beast out of the cage ?
Also, I need a step by step tuning procedure with which meter reading, upper or lower, as I take each step. The manual info I downloaded from bama was a little vague for me.
