Mike,
I was going to suggest a 3S6.
My Sylvania catalog lists two, a 3S6/5 120V & a 3S6/5 125V. They are 3 watt
with the S-6 envelope (as you described) and a candelabra screw base. These
were commonly used as pilot or indicator lamps.
I too am on the hunt for a replacement lamp. Its the one used in the feedback
cct. of the IG-18 sine/square generator. It appeared to have a Sylvania no.
(SYL 90V) but Osram Sylvania can't place it. They have put me on to a company
called Action Products who apparently deals well with misc. requests on older
equipment. Sylvania told me "They have good product knowledge and are a great
resource for my type of inquiry." Something to keep in mind. Anyway, they
have already zeroed in on my bulb type and he is now trying to locate one.
If you can't find a replacement locally you might want to give him a call at
1 800 892 9657 or 540 722 5285 (the 1 800 no. is not accessible from Canada).
Good Luck,
Gary.
