Could your CW carrier crystal have shifted frequency with age...?

My SB-400 developed weak RF & tinny-sounding audio on LSB only at one time,
& that was the culprit! A new LSB crystal fixed it up.

Try running a wire "probe" from a well-calibrated digital read-out general
coverage receiver around & about that crystal & check the frequency on the
receiver "zero beat"---now compare it to what's printed on the case of the
crystal.

These HC6/U guys DO change with time, hermetically-sealed, or not!
