HR-10B Performance

The old bugaboo with the HR-10 is the lack of a "tuning plate"...when you tune
the coils, and then subsequently place the bottom plate on, the inductances all
change, effectively detuning the unit...you can make a "tuning plate" by taking
the very same bottom plate, marking it carefully and then cutting holes in the
appropriate places to line up with the coils.  Then mount the plate permanently,
then tune.  I'll never forget my shock when I walked into the tech area at the LA
store as an employee for the first time and witnessed a tech using this...."Why
didn't Heath include holes with the unit?" , was my first question... No one
knows...
